Last month, the ZTE Axon 20 5G made its name as the first smartphone in the world to feature an under display selfie camera.
Shortly after that, Vietnamese tech giant Vinsmart also launched its own Vsmart Aris Pro smartphone which also features the same innovative technology at a really attractive price point as well.
Right now, Japanese telecommunication giant Rakuten jumped into the party with the launch of their new Rakuten BIG smartphone. Yes, the phone is really known as “Rakuten BIG”, and that’s partially because of its massive footprint as well.
At the front, the Rakuten BIG is built around a huge 6.9-inches OLED display which offers a FHD+ screen resolution along with in-display fingerprint scanner.
Since the device is equipped with a 32 megapixels under display selfie camera, the front display will not be coming with an unsightly notches or hole-punches.
Over on its rear, there will be a vertical camera module which houses a quad camera system. These cameras include a 64 megapixels primary shooter, 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens, as well as a pair of 2 megapixels depth and macro cameras.
Coming to its internals, the Rakuten BIG will be helmed by a 5G-ready Snapdragon 765G chipset coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage which can be expanded via a microSD card. To keep its light on, the device is fueled by a respectable 4,000mAh battery.
Apart from that, other notable features of the device include its IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, as well as its support for NFC connectivity.
For those who’re interested, the Rakuten BIG will be available in three different color variants including Black, White, as well as Crimson Red. In the Japanese market, it will be priced at 69,800 Yen (US$660) for its sole 6GB+128GB model.
