Realme 6i has been certified by Singapore’s IMDA

Previously, we’d already heard rumors that Realme is prepping the successor for their renowned Realme 5 smartphone series. Based on Realme’s nomenclature, the successor will mostly likely be known simply as Realme 6.

Now, an upcoming Realme smartphone has been spotted at Singapore’s IMDA authority database with the model number RMX2040. In the same listing, it was listed that the marketing name of the device is known as Realme 6i; reaffirming the existence of Realme’s 6 series.

So far, we’ve yet to hear any official words regarding the Realme 6 series. However, we do expect them to offer a new range of value-for-money smartphones which will compete with the likes of other upcoming Redmi and Vivo mid-rangers.

Last year’s Realme 5 series smartphones was one of the best-selling smartphone series for the Chinese smartphone maker. In 2019 alone, Realme had sold more than 5.5 million smartphones from the Realme 5 series.

According to Realme, the company planned to double their smartphone shipments from 25 million in 2019 to 50 million this year. Therefore, the success of the upcoming Realme 6 series will play an important role in achieving their target this year.
