In January 2022, Realme launched the Realme GT 2 and GT 2 Pro flagship phones in China. Since then, it hasn’t launched a GT-branded flagship phone in the home market. A new leak reveals that Realme is planning to launch the Realme GT 5 and GT 5 Pro.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets will power the Realme GT 5 and Realme GT 5 Pro, respectively, according to Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station. The GT 5 is expected to launch in August in China, whereas the Pro edition may debut after a couple of months.
Previous reports have claimed Realme will launch the GT Neo 6 with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 onboard in August in China. However, it now appears that this device will be called the Realme GT 5 when it arrives in the Chinese market.
Realme GT 5 specifications (rumored)
As per reports, the Realme GT 5 will house a 6.74-inch OLED display supporting 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The phone is likely to feature a 16-megapixel front camera and a triple camera setup on the back, comprising a 50-megapixel main sensor (Sony IMX890) with OIS, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro camera.
The GT 5 is expected to offer up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. It is expected to arrive in two variants. The model housing a 4,600mAh battery is expected to support 240W charging, whereas a variant featuring a 5,200mAh battery will offer 150W charging.
As far as the Realme GT 5 Pro is concerned, the device is expected to feature the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and a periscope zoom camera. Nothing else is known about the device.
