There have been reports that Realme is working on the Realme GT 5 Pro flagship smartphone. Digital Chat Station, a reliable source for leaks, has been consistently sharing important information about this Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered flagship over the past few weeks. In his earlier leaks, he suggested that the GT 5 Pro would bear a striking resemblance to the OnePlus 12, with only slight differences, such as the rear design and heat dissipation system. However, it appears that he has had a change of perspective, as there now seem to be discernible distinctions between the two devices.
Realme hasn’t launched a smartphone with a periscope telephoto camera yet. However, it has already started teasing its first periscope zoom camera phone for the global market without revealing its name. This one does not seem to be the Realme GT 5 Pro. Read on to learn why.
According to DCS, there is a high probability that the OmniVision OV64B periscope telephoto camera, which was expected to be available on the Realme GT 5 Pro, has been replaced by a Sony IMX890 telephoto camera. In a new Weibo post, he hinted that the GT 5 Pro will have a Sony IMX966 primary camera and an IMX890 telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.
While he has not mentioned it, the camera setup will also include an ultra-wide lens. The same primary camera is also said to be available on the OnePlus 12.
As far as other specs are concerned, the GT 5 Pro is expected to feature a curved-edge OLED panel that offers a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, a 10,000mm² VC heat dissipation system, a 5,400mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, Realme UI 5-based Android 14, and an IP-rated chassis.
