Weibing did not reveal the name of the Redmi phone that will feature the forthcoming Snapdragon 875 mobile platform. Since the Redmi K30 Pro flagship phone debuted in first quarter this year, the Redmi K40 Pro could feature the SD875 chipset.

It is speculated that the Snapdragon 875 chipset will break cover in the first quarter of 2021. Xiaomi and Vivo could are reportedly planning to launch their SD875 powered flagship phones before the Chinese Spring Festival that takes place in February.

Speaking of Xiaomi, the Snapdragon 865 SoC was first seen on the Xiaomi Mi 10 series in February this year. The Redmi K30 Pro with SD865 was announced in March.
