The MediaTek Helio G90T gaming-centric chipset was announced yesterday along with the slightly inferior Helio G90 SoC yesterday. Soon after the official unveil, Xiaomi India Managing Director confirmed that the company will be launching the first Helio G90T smartphone in India. Also, Redmi’s Weibo account and Redmi General Lu Weibing have revealed that a Redmi phone with Helio G90T will be meeting Redmi fans soon.
As of this writing, there is no information on the official name of Redmi Helio G90T smartphone. However, Redmi has been teasing that it will be launching a 64-megapixel camera phone soon. The Helio G90T processor carries support up for 64-megapixel camera. Hence, it appears that the Redmi Helio G90T could be equipped with a 64-megapixel quad camera system.
The Helio G90T is equipped with support for up to 10 GB LPDDRX RAM and it supports up to 90Hz displays. Hence, the Redmi Helio G90T smartphone will feature high amount of RAM. It is being speculated that it could be the Redmi 7 Pro smartphone since the company has only launched Redmi 7 and Redmi 7A phones this year and fans are waiting for the arrival of a Pro model. There is a possibility it could be an entirely different phone.
Redmi has a launch event coming up in August. The 3C certification Redmi TV suggests that it may go official at the next month’s event. The Helio G90T Redmi phone may also get unveiled at the same platform.
