Redmi K100 price tipped months before launch

Xiaomi is expected to unveil the Xiaomi 18 series in September this year in China. Around a month later, the company’s sub-brand Redmi may announce the Redmi K100 series in October. The lineup is expected to include two models: the Redmi K100 and K100 Max. Months ahead of the launch, tipster Digital Chat Station has tipped the price of the K100.

Redmi K100 chip, price tipped by DCS

DCS has claimed that a Redmi K100 series smartphone could arrive by the end of this year with Qualcomm’s previous-generation flagship chipset, likely the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. According to the leak, the upcoming Redmi K100 successor may adopt the “N-1” flagship chip strategy, but its pricing could end up close to current flagship smartphones.

The tipster claims that most devices in this segment may start in the “4K” price range in China, which likely refers to around 4,000 Yuan (~$585). If accurate, this would mark a notable price jump for the rumored Redmi K100 lineup compared to previous Redmi K-series models, which traditionally targeted the affordable flagship category. To recall, the Redmi K90 was priced at 2,599 Yuan (~$365) for the 12GB+256GB base variant last year. This means the K100 could arrive with around a 54 percent price increase.

The Redmi K100 Pro Max, which is expected to launch alongside the K100, will reportedly be a more powerful device featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chip with LPDDR6 RAM support. A previous leak from the same source revealed that its base variant may cost around 5,000 Yuan (~$730).

The Pro Max edition is also expected to feature a 200-megapixel primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. The rest of its specifications remain under wraps.

Globally, these devices may be rebranded as the Poco F9 Pro and Poco F9 Ultra. The F9 lineup is likely to debut globally in Q1 2027.
