At the end of May month, Redmi had launched the Xiaomi Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro flagship phones. At the beginning of this month, the company had confirmed that it had sold 1 million units of Redmi K20 series. Redmi fans are mostly satisfied by the Redmi K20 phones that come with full screen display, pop-up selfie camera, powerful specs and affordable pricing. Redmi President Lu Weibing had a discussion with Redmi fans today in Chengdu. He confirmed also through Weibo that the company will be soon holding a photo contest for Redmi fans in China. In the comments section of the Weibo post, a fan suggested Weibing to add IR blaster, dual speakers and linear motor. He responded by saying “OK” which indicates that these features could be arriving on the Redmi K20 Pro successor smartphone.
In the first half of the year, Redmi has released low-end to flagship smartphones in China such as Redmi 7A, Redmi 7, Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7 Pro, Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro smartphones. There could be some surprise waiting for the Redmi fans in China.
There is no confirmation on whether the successor phone for the Redmi K20 series will be arriving later this year. Since smartphone manufacturers are known for launching second round of flagship phones in the latter half of the year, it remains to be seen whether Redmi releases another flagship later this year.
