After weeks of relentless teasing, the Redmi K30 Pro and K30 Pro Zoom have finally been announced via an online launch event today.
As usual, the latest flagship phones are packed with loads of interesting surprises under the hood despite being one of the most affordable flagship phone in the market.
For starter, the Redmi K30 Pro employs a future-proof front panel that has no top-notch or hole-punch at all. This is possible because Xiaomi has chose to equip the Redmi K30 Pro with a motorized 20 megapixels pop-up selfie camera this time round.
It’s AMOLED display measures 6.67-inches diagonally and has a decent 1080 x 2400 pixels screen resolution. Although the device only supports a mediocre 60Hz screen refresh rate, but it do come with other impressive display features including HDR10+, 1,200 nits peak brightness, as well as a solid 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio.
On it’s rear panel, the Redmi K30 Pro has a unique circular camera module which is home to a quad-camera setup comprising of a 64 megapixels main shooter (with OIS support), 5 megapixels macro lens, 13 megapixels ultra-wide lens, as well as a 2 megapixels depth sensor.
As for the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom, the 5 megapixels macro lens will be swapped with an 8 megapixels telephoto lens. Therefore, the device will be able to support up to 3x optical zoom and as much as 30x digital zoom. Other than that, the “Zoom” edition will share the same specs and design as the K30 Pro.
Since the device utilizes an in-display fingerprint sensor, there won’t be any unsightly physical fingerprint sensor located on the device as well.
As expected, the Redmi K30 Pro is driven by the latest Snapdragon 865 SoC which is compatible with the latest 5G connectivity in both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) modes.
Just like most other recent flagship devices, the Redmi K30 Pro also utilizes the latest LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 flash storage technologies. In this aspect, there will be up to 8GB worth of RAM and 256GB onboard storage space for it’s users.
Besides that, other headlining features also include a dedicated “vapour chamber” cooling system to support hours of continuous gaming on the smartphone. Moreover, the Redmi K30 Pro also features an improved heptic feedback system that is powered by a linear motor.
To keep it’s lights on, there will also be a massive 4,700mAh battery which which comes with 33W fast-charging support, capable of delivering a full charge within 63 minutes.
Pricing-wise, the Redmi K30 Pro will be priced at 2,999 Yuan (US$424), 3,399 Yuan (US$480) and 3,699 Yuan (US$523) for it’s 6GB+128GB, 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB models respectively.
As for the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom, it will be priced at 3,799 Yuan (US$537) and 3,999 Yuan (US$565) for it’s 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB models respectively.
