In December last year, Redmi unveiled the Redmi K30 4G and Redmi K30 5G phones. From the beginning of this year, the POCO brand which did not launch any phones last year after the successful POCO F1 from 2018 announced that it has a separate brand. In February, it unveiled the POCO X2 phone which debuted as the rebranded version of the Redmi K30 4G. It is already known that the Redmi K30 Pro has lmi codename whereas the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Edition has lmipro codename. The XDA report states that it has come across some proof that in the MIUI Camera app in the latest MIUI 11 beta. Investigating the camera app revealed an evidence for “lmiin” codename which seems to belong to the Indian version of the Redmi K30 Pro.
There is an evidence of “Shot on POCO PHONE” in the code which reveals that the “lmiin” is a POCO device. So, it is likely that the Redmi K30 Pro 5G will be debuting in India as POCO F2. If this turns out to be true, it will be India’s cheapest Snapdragon 865 phone just as the POCO F1 was the most affordable Snapdragon 845 phone in 2018.
POCO is yet to start teasing on the arrival of its next flagship phone. There is a possibility that the company may start teasing the POCO F2 in April and it may break cover later in April or May. Hopefully, the rumor mill will spill more information on the POCO F2 in the coming weeks.
