In December 2019, the Redmi K30 5G was introduced alongside its 4G sibling. The 5G version was made available for purchase in China at the beginning of this year. A few months later, the Redmi K30 Pro 5G was introduced. Speculations are rife that the Xiaomi M2006J10C phone that was recently spotted at the 3C authority of China and at the radio frequency certification platform could be the Redmi K40 5G. Today, a reliable tipster from China shared key specs of a phone without mentioning its name. It appears that he might have revealed the key details of the Redmi K40 5G handset.
The tipster has previously claimed that an upcoming Redmi phone will be arriving with Dimensity 1000+ SoC. He has now revealed that the handset is equipped with an IPS LCD panel that supports 120Hz. It appears that the screen does not have a single or double punch-hole on its screen. So, there is a possibility that it could be sporting a pop-up selfie camera and a notch-less display.
The leak further reveals that the handset is backed by a 4,500mAh battery. The 3C listing of the M2006J10C handset revealed that it is a 5G phone and it could be coming with a 33W fast charger.
There are speculations that the Redmi K40 5G will inherit the Sony IMX686 camera from its predecessor since it is still a stellar camera. The K40 5G could be coming with an enhanced quad-camera system.
Redmi is yet to confirm the existence of the Redmi K40 series. Hopefully, the series may go official within the third quarter of the year.
