Redmi K50 Gaming debuts with more power and faster charging speed!

Last year, Xiaomi announced the first-ever Redmi gaming smartphone known as the Redmi K40 Gaming which had garnered much fanfare in it’s local market. Fast-forward ten months, the company is now back with the new Redmi K50 Gaming which packs a brand new processor as well as an even faster charging speed aimed to further elevate gaming experience on the handset.

Starting with the front side of the phone, the Redmi K50 Gaming sports a 6.67” AMOLED display which offers a sharp FHD+ screen resolution along with a smooth 120Hz adaptive refresh rate which automatically switches it’s refresh rate accordingly to it’s onscreen contents.

To provide users with an added advantage in real-time, first-person shooter game titles like PUBG Mobile, the display itself also supports a super responsive 480Hz touch sampling rate which allows the screen to quickly pick up any touch input from the user. Of course, the phone do feature a pair of shoulder buttons for those who prefer using them rather than tapping on the screen.

At the back, the phone retains the same triple-camera system as it’s predecessor including a 64MP Sony IMX686 main camera, 8 megapixels ultra-wide camera, as well as a 2 megapixels telemacro camera. As for selfie, we do see a decent upgrade from a 16 megapixels to a 20 megapixels camera instead.

Under the hood, the Redmi K50 Gaming is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset which will be aided by up to 12GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage in the memory department. As usual, the phone continues to be backed by a reliable VC cooling system that’s crucial in keeping the phone cool during prolonged gaming sessions.

Other than that, the Redmi K50 Gaming also features a host of gaming-centric features such as the company’s in-house CyberEngine x-axis haptics motor as well as a pair of highly capable JBL-tuned speakers to deliver an all-rounded gaming experience for it’s users.

To keep it’s lights, the device will be backed by a respectable 4,700mAh battery which carries support for 120W fast wired charging that’s able to deliver a full charge in just 17 minutes. Software-wise, it’ll be shipped with MIUI 13 based on Android 12 OS out of the box.

For those who’re interested, the Redmi K50 Gaming is launched in Black, Dream Blue and Silver colorways, as well as a top-of-the-line model known as the Mercedes AMG F1 edition. Pricing for the phone will start from as low as 3,299 Yuan (US$521) in the Chinese market.
