Redmi recently unveiled the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition phone in China. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powered device was announced as the successor for last year’s Redmi K40 Gaming. As confirmed during its launch, the company carried out the first sale of the Redmi K50G today in the home market. Soon after the first sale, the company confirmed that it sold Redmi K50 Gaming units worth 280 Yuan Million in just 1 minute.
The Redmi K50 Gaming was announced in three variants such as 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 12 GB RAM + 128 GB Storage, and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. These models are priced at 3,299 Yuan ($521), 3,599 Yuan ($568), and 3,899 Yuan ($615), respectively.
It appears that the company may have sold around 70,000 to 84,870 units of the Redmi K50 Gaming in the first sale in China. The handset comes in three colors such as black, blue, and silver.
Redmi K50 Gaming Specifications
The Redmi K50 Gaming has a 6.67-inch Full HD+ resolution supporting AMOLED panel. The device offers a high refresh rate of 120Hz and runs on MIUI 13 based Android 12 OS. For gaming, it is equipped with mechanical pop-up gaming trigger buttons.
The K50 Gaming is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. It ships with up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The device comes with a 4,700mAh battery that supports 120W rapid charging.
The gaming phone features a 20-megapixel Sony IMX596 camera for capturing selfies. It has a triple camera unit with a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 primary camera. It is coupled with a 13-megapixel ultrawide snapper and a 2-megapixel macro camera.
