Redmi recently confirmed the launch date of the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition. It will be made official on Feb. 16 in China. It is likely that the event may see the arrival of some more Redmi K50 series of smartphones. Ahead of the launch, the company has been busy teasing the key features and design of the K50 Gaming Edition. At the same time, a tipster from China has shared major specs of the device.
Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing took to Weibo to talk about the design of the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition. He said that the device flaunts a sports car-like design and colors. He added that the handset will offer “exquisite in-hand feeling in Redmi’s history.”
Redmi has been teasing the blue variant of the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition. It can be seen sporting a triple camera unit with RGB lighting along with LED flash, which sports a lightning design. The mid-section of the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition’s rear shell has black-blue colored triangular patterns. The left side of the device can be seen sporting a SIM card slot, volume buttons, and a microphone. The right edge of the device, which is not visible in the image is flanked by pop-up mechanical trigger gaming buttons and a power key.
Redmi K50 Gaming Edition Specifications (Rumored)
The Redmi K50 Gaming Edition will measure 162 x 76.8 x 8.45mm and weigh 210 grams. It will come with a 6.67-inch OLED display that offers a 120Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset will be present under the hood of the device.
The device will feature a 16-megapixel camera for capturing selfies and video calls. Its rear camera setup will have a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B primary camera, a 13-megapixel OmniVision OV13B camera, and a 2-megapixel lens.
The device will be backed by a 4,700mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging. It will come with other features such as JBL dual speakers, a side-facing fingerprint scanner, and NFC.
