Redmi announced the Redmi K40S and Redmi K50 series of smartphones last week in China. While the K40S was made available for purchase on the launch date in the home market, the Redmi K50 and Redmi K50 Pro were made available for purchase for the first time today. Soon after making the K50 duo available for purchase, the company took to its Weibo handle to reveal how many K50 series units were sold in the first sale.
According to Redmi, the company sold over 330,000 units of the Redmi K50 and K50 Pro in just 5 minutes in the first sale. To recall, the company had sold 300,000 units of the Redmi K40 series in the first sale last year.
Redmi K50, K50 Pro Specifications
The Redmi K50 Pro features a 6.67-inch AMOLED QHD+ 120Hz display, a Dimensity 9000 chipset, a 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, a triple camera unit with 108-megapixel (main) + 8-megapixel (ultrawide) + 2-megapixel (macro) and a 20-megapixel front camera. The K50 has Dimensity 8100 chip, a 5,500mAh battery with 67W charging, and a 48-megapixel (main) + 8-megapixel (ultrawide) + 2-megapixel (macro) triple camera unit. The rest of the K50 specs are identical to its Pro model.
The Redmi K50 comes in three options, such as 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage, and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. They are priced at 2,399 Yuan ($377), 2,599 Yuan ($408), and 2,799 Yuan ($440), respectively.
On the other side, the Redmi K50 Pro comes in four variants, like 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage, 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage, and 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage. These models are priced at 2,999 Yuan ($471), 3,299 Yuan ($518), 3,599 Yuan ($565), and 3,999 Yuan ($628). Both phones come in silver, black, green, and blue colors.
