Redmi K70, K70 Pro tipped to feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 8 Gen 3

Redmi is working on the Redmi K70 series of smartphones for the Chinese market. Ahead of the launch, the rumor mill has been gradually revealing the key details of both smartphones. In a new leak, tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed the chipset that will be used in the Redmi K70 and K70 Pro.

According to the tipster, the Redmi K70 will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, whereas the K70 Pro will have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 onboard. This leak aligns with previous reports that have made the same claim.

In another Weibo post, the tipster claimed that the Redmi K70 will have a 1.5K resolution OLED panel. On the other hand, the K70 Pro’s OLED display is expected to offer a 2K resolution. Both phones are expected to support a 120Hz refresh rate and run on HyperOS-based Android 14.

The Redmi K70 is expected to house a 5,000mAh battery with 90W fast charging support. The Pro model is likely to pack a 5,120mAh battery with 120W fast charging. It is speculated that the K70 series may lack support for wireless charging.

The Redmi K70 series is expected to feature a Sony IMX9/LYT8 primary camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a telephoto camera that offers a 2x optical zoom. For selfies, the K70 lineup may feature a 20-megapixel front-facing camera. The K70 series is likely to come with other features, such as an in-screen fingerprint scanner, a metallic frame, and an IP68-rated chassis.

The lineup is also said to feature the Redmi K70e. It is likely that the device may come equipped with the Dimensity 8300 chip.
