Recently, Xiaomi has just announced that the company had sold more than 30 million smartphones from the company’s renowned Redmi Note 8 series. Today, Canalys had also released a new report which revealed that the Redmi Note 8 and Note 8T had secured the second position in terms of global smartphone shipments (sell-in) after recorded a shipment number in exceed of 8 million.
At the first position, it is none other than the iPhone 11 which most of us should have already expected. According to Canalys, iPhone 11 alone had already recorded more than 18 million in shipment number. In fact, the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max had collectively accounted for 10% global smartphone market share during this period of time.
In the third to tenth positions, they were occupied by the Samsung Galaxy A51, Galaxy A10s, Redmi Note 8 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, Galaxy A20s, Galaxy A01, Redmi 8A and iPhone 11 Pro respectively.
It is obvious that Apple, Xiaomi and Samsung continue to dominate the top 10 positions during Q1 2020. Among the top 10 positions, only the iPhone models are high-end flagship devices, while the majority are entry-level to mid-ranger smartphones.
