[Update] Redmi Note 9S is very likely to be a rebranded Note 9 Pro according to latest teaser

Update: Redmi Note 9S is indeed the rebranded version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro. The actual design of the device is totally similar to the current Note 9 Pro.

Original story follows…

Xiaomi has earlier confirmed that the Redmi Note 9S will be announced in Malaysia on March 23rd later this month. This came shortly after the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max made their official debut in India last week.

However, many have speculated that the Redmi Note 9S is none other than the rebranded version of the recently announced Redmi Note 9 Pro based on the teaser released by the company. This is because the teaser shows a familiar square-shaped camera module which resembles that of the Note 9 Pro.

Today, a new teaser released by Xiaomi Malaysia further corroborates this speculation. This time round, the teaser has revealed that the Redmi Note 9S will also sport a central hole-punched display just like the Note 9 Pro.

Therefore, we could safely assume that the Redmi Note 9S is indeed the rebadged version of the Note 9 Pro. If that’s the case, then it will also be coming with pretty much the same specs as the Note 9 Pro.

As a quick recap, the Redmi Note 9 Pro has a 6.67-inches IPS LCD display with 1080 x 2400 pixels screen resolution. Under the hood, it will be driven by an octa-core Snapdragon 720G SoC coupled with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB onboard storage space.

The quad-camera setup on it’s back consists of a 48 megapixels main shooter, an 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens, 5 megapixels macro lens, as well as a 2 megapixels depth sensor. This will be completed with a 16 megapixels selfie camera at the front.

The device will be fueled by a massive 5,020mAh battery which supports up to 18W fast-charging. On the software-end, the device will run on the latest MIUI 11 based on Android 10 OS.
