Samsung 5G Phone Showcased at CES 2019

South Korean media had recently revealed that Samsung had showcased its first foldable phone behind closed doors at the ongoing the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019. The South Korean company also showcased a 5G phone prototype at the same platform. Unlike the foldable phone, its 5G phone was kept on display in a glass enclosure for public viewing. Since Samsung did not advertise it, the audience of CES 2019 could not realize that the company had really revealed its 5G phone prototype.

The prototype 5G phone from Samsung was running on demo mode. It appears to be the very same model that the company had used to demo a 5G video call in South Korean in December. The Samsung Galaxy S10 will be featuring a punch-hole cutout at the top right corner of its screen. However, the 5G enabled prototype by Samsung featured a corner notch for the front-facing camera.

Samsung will be announcing the Galaxy S10 series on Feb. 20. The S10 series will include S10, S10 Plus and S10 E (Lite) smartphones. Rumors have it that the Samsung will be debuting its 5G edition of Galaxy S10 alongside the Galaxy Fold foldable device in March.’

The Galaxy S10 5G edition is speculated to be codenamed as Beyond X and its model number could SM-G977. The handset is expected to come equipped with a massive battery of 5,000mAh capacity. In fact, it could be featuring the very same battery that will be powering the forthcoming Galaxy M20 and Galaxy M30 smartphones.
