Last year, Samsung announced a budget-centric handset known as the Galaxy A01 which is priced at around US$120. Right now, a more affordable variant of the device known as the Galaxy A01 Core has been spotted on Google Play Console as well.

This device, unlike the Galaxy A01, will be driven by a quad-cores MediaTek MT6739 SoC instead of the Snapdragon 439 platform. Other than that, it also has its RAM capacity toned down from 2GB to just 1GB – just enough for light usages. It will however, maintain the same HD+ display at the front.
Unless the Galaxy A01 Core could be positioned at a really low price point, its difficult for it to compete against other upcoming entry-level smartphones including the Realme C11 and Redmi 9C which are likely to offer slightly better specs and performance.
As of now, information pertaining to the Galaxy A01 Core remain scare but we do expect it to be made official pretty soon. As usual, entry-level handset is normally announced silently via a press release – so we wouldn’t be expecting any launch event for this device.
