Samsung Galaxy A42 could be among the first smartphone to feature the new Snapdragon 750G SoC

If you still remember, Samsung officially announced a new mid-ranger smartphone known as the Samsung Galaxy A42 5G at the beginning of this month.

However, the strange thing is that the underlying chipset of the Galaxy A42 5G was not revealed by the South Korean smartphone maker. Fast forward three weeks, we now finally know about the reason for omitting the identity of the chipset.

Its simply because the device actually runs on the latest Snapdragon 750G SoC which has yet to be announced at that point of time. This information came directly from the source code of the device’s benchmark test.

Aside from that, we already know that the Galaxy A42 5G will be coming with a 6.6-inches Super AMOLED display which employs a dewdrop-notch design. It front display features a FHD+ screen resolution and carries support for an in-display fingerprint scanner as well.

Over at the back, the device will be equipped with a quad camera system comprising of a 48 megapixels main camera, 8 megapixels ultra-wide, 5 megapixels macro camera, as well as a 5 megapixels depth sensor. As for the front-facing camera, it will be a 20 megapixels selfie shooter.

At the helm, the Galaxy A42 5G is fitted with a huge 5,000mAh battery with fast-charging support. It will be priced at 369 Euros (US$431) in the European market according to a recent press release published by Samsung Germany.
