At the beginning of this year, the leaked Android 8.0 Oreo build of Galaxy Note 8 had revealed several codenames of the upcoming Samsung phones. One of them is the Galaxy J8 that was spotted on Geekbench benchmarking platform in the previous. At that time, the handset had appeared with Exynos 7870 chipset and 3 GB of RAM. Today, another variant of the smartphone has surfaced once again on the benchmarking site. It is packed with more RAM and another chipset.
The Samsung SM-J805G phone that had appeared yesterday on Geekbench is speculated to debut as Galaxy J8. The handset is loaded with Android 8.0 Oreo. It is powered by msm8952 chipset which is nothing but the Snapdragon 625 SoC that had powered many of the mid-range phones last year. The SoC is coupled with 4 GB of RAM.
In single-core test, the Galaxy J8 has scored 749. On the other hand, it has recorded a score of 3708 in multi-core test. It is speculated that Samsung may sell the Snapdragon 625 edition of the Galaxy J8 in North America. The rest of the world may receive the Exynos variant of the phone.
At present there is no information available on the appearance and other specs of the phone. The South Korean company is expected to launch other new J series phones such as Galaxy J4 and Galaxy J6 this year.
