A microsite for the Samsung Galaxy M42 5G has surfaced on Amazon India. The listing confirms that the South Korean company will be unleashing it on April 28 in the country. It will be debuting as the company’s first 5G-ready Galaxy M-series smartphone.
The Amazon listing reveals that the Galaxy M42 5G will be equipped with the Snapdragon 750G chipset. While the company has confirmed that it will be coming with features like Knox Security, AltZLife, Content Suggestions, and Samsung Pay, it has not revealed any information on its other specifications.
As far as its design is concerned, the Galaxy M42 5G can be seen flaunting a Infinity-U notch display. The back panel of the phone has a layered pattern finish and a quad-camera module at the upper-left corner.
Rumors are rife that the Galaxy M42 5G will be a rebranded version of the Galaxy A42 5G, which was announced back in September 2020. However, there are chances that there could be a few differing features on the M42 5G. A recent leak claimed that the device will be priced under Rs 20,000 ($267) in India.
The Galaxy A42 5G has a 6.6-inch S-AMOLED display that offers a 720 x 1600 pixels HD+ resolution and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The Snapdragon 750G fuels the smartphone with up to 8 GB of LPDDR4x. It offers built-in storage of up to 128 GB and a dedicated microSD card slot. The device is backed by a 5,000mAh battery, which supports 15W charging. For photography, it has a selfie camera of 20-megapixel, and its rear shell has a 48-megapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel ultrawide shooter with a 123-degree FOV, a 5-megapixel macro camera, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor.
