The Samsung Galaxy Note 21 is expected to go official in the latter half of the coming year. The S Pen stylus is the signature feature of the Note series of smartphones. However, a new report by a South Korean publication suggests that the S Pen will not be exclusive to the Note series in 2021. The reason behind it that the Galaxy S21 series earlier in the coming year could be shipping with S Pen stylus.
There have been some reports that have claimed that since the Galaxy S21 series could be coming with S Pen support, Samsung will discontinue the Note lineup. The report claims that the Galaxy Note lineup will not be discontinued at least in 2021. However, the report mentions that by offering the S Pen feature on the Galaxy S series, Samsung could be planning turn to Galaxy Note customers into buyers of the Galaxy S series. This suggest that the company may eventually discontinue the Galaxy Note series.
With the advent of foldable phones, the company may not have the need of selling Galaxy Note series. The Galaxy S series may serve the purse of Note series smartphones.
As far as the Galaxy S21 is concerned, it is expected to break cover in the first half of 2021. The Galaxy S21 is codenamed as Unbound and the series is also expected to include two more phones called the Galaxy S21 Plus and Galaxy S21 Ultra. While the S Pen will be a part of the upcoming Galaxy S series, these devices may not feature a built-in slot for the stylus.
As far as the upcoming S21 series, the rumor mill has so far revealed that the Galaxy S21, S21 Plus and Galaxy S21 Plus are equipped with 4,000mAh, 4,660mAh and 4,885mAH batteries, respectively. The S21 Ultra may support 65W charging and the entire series could be driven by the Exynos 2100 chipset.
