Samsung SM-G8750 phone that was recently spotted at Geekbench at the beginning of this month has now received certification from Bluetooth. It has been found through the Bluetooth approval of the phone that it could be a China exclusive Galaxy S8 Mini phone.
The product name of the SM-G8750 is mentioned as Dream-Lite CN China at Bluetooth.org. The Galaxy S8 that was launched last year was codenamed as Project Dream before its launch. The larger Galaxy S8+ was codenamed as Dream 2. Since the Dream naming is associated with Galaxy S8, it is speculated that the SM-G8750 phone could be the Galaxy S8 Mini or Lite, and not Galaxy S9 Mini as the rumor mill had been claiming. Also, the S8 Mini could be exclusively available in China.
Samsung’s is holding a dismal market share in China. The Galaxy S8 Mini that is likely to be packed with mid-range specs and the Galaxy S9 and S9+ may help the company to gain some market share in China. A Samsung phone with model number SM-G8850 had received TENAA certification. Since the SM-G8750 could be arriving as S8 Mini, the SM-G8850 could be the S8+ Mini. As of this writing, there is no official confirmation on the existence of these phones. More details on the S8 Mini are expected to surface in the coming weeks.
