Sharp is speculated to launch full-screen smartphones on July 17. It will be unveiling two smartphones that are codenamed as FS8016 and FS8010 that will be respectively driven by Snapdragon 660 and Snapdragon 635 chipsets. Just a week ahead of launching its new smartphones, Sharp has made the Aquos R flagship phone available for purchase. The Sharp Aquos was launched in April, but the company had confirmed the pricing of the phone. However, the official pricing of the Aquos R has been confirmed.
The Sharp Aquos R is priced at 89,424 Yen (~$746) and it is available in Japan in three color options such as black, white and purple. The Sharp Aquos R marks the comeback of the brand in the smartphone market.
The Aquos R features a 5.3-inch Sharp IGZO display that supports 2K resolution. It offers a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Both the sides of the smartphone are flanked with glass with metallic frame in between. It has a IP68 certified body. It features 4 GB RAM, 64 GB storage, 22.6-megapixel rear camera with OIS support, 16-megapixel selfie camera, USB Type-C, 3,160mAh battery and Quick Charge 3.0. There is no confirmation on when it will be available outside of Japan.
