Sony took the smartphone world by surprise when the company announced that it will be holding an official launch event for a new Xperia smartphone on October 26th – two weeks from now.
It’s surprising in the sense that there isn’t any reports or leaks at all during the past couple of weeks which is quite unusual in today’s smartphone world, especially when upcoming phone models can be easily spotted across various certification listings or database.
Since the company isn’t known for launching flagship phones during this period of time, we reckon that the upcoming model could fall in the mid-range segment. For sure, we don’t expect this device to be an entry-level phone since it’s unlikely for Sony to hold a global launch event just to introduce it’s latest budget offering.
At the moment, we can only hope for Sony to release some teasers which can potentially shed some light on this upcoming model.
