If you’re looking to get yourself a mid-range Android smartphone this summer, you may be intrigued to hear that Sony is now pushing out their latest Xperia SP for pre-orders starting today. Dubbed as the younger brother of the Xperia Z, the Xperia SP will come with a 4.6-inch display which is relatively smaller than the 5-inch display of the Xperia Z. Besides a smaller screen size, the Xperia SP will also be coming with a rather decent specifications onboard which include : 1.7GHz ual-core Snapdragon S4 Plus processor packed with Adreno 320 GPU, 1GB RAM, 8 megapixels rear camera, 0.3 megapixels front camera, 8GB internal storage, 2,370 mAh battery, as well as Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
According to Sony, you can take home the Xperia SP at just $480 outright – $150 cheaper than the price of the Xperia Z if you want to compare. One major drawback of the Xperia SP is that the device will not be coming with the water-proofing technology found in the Xperia Z, which many are longing for.
If you’re interested, the Xperia SP will be coming in 2 color options – Black and White, with Black being the default color for the device.
