Since the launch of OnePlus X back in 2015, OnePlus has yet to release their second mid-ranger smartphone for the next three years.
However, things seem to be changing soon. Today, renowned leaker @onleaks has joint hands with 91Mobiles to bring us the CAD images of what seems to be the upcoming OnePlus 8 Lite.
As it’s name suggests, this device is expected to be a watered-down version of the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro which are slated to be announced somewhere in Q2 2020.
Unlike what we’d seen from the earlier OnePlus 8 CAD images, the Lite variant will sport a redesigned camera module that is placed at the top-left corner instead of middle.
This time round, it’s camera module shares a close resemblance to the Honor V30 and the upcoming Galaxy S11e. It will however, only house two camera sensors, accompanied by perhaps a ToF sensor and a LED flash.
The front panel of the OnePlus 8 Lite will also feature a central hole-punched display which measures approximately 6.4-inch to 6.5-inch. Furthermore, @onleaks also revealed that the device will have an estimated footprint measuring 159.2 x 74 x 8.6mm.
Along the side edges, we could see the presence of a Power button, Volume Rocker and a USB-C port. However, there is an obvious omission of headphone jack as well as rear/ side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Therefore, it is likely that the OnePlus 8 Lite may arrive with an under display fingerprint sensor.
For now, let’s hope to hear more about it’s official specs in the coming weeks or months.
