Android Phones Asus Leaked News

This could be our first look at the next-generation’s ROG Phone

Recently, ASUS had already began teasing on the upcoming ROG Phone 3’s successor which is expected to be launched during the first-halve of the year.

Although this device should marketed as the ROG Phone 4 based on its longstanding naming convention, but it is speculated to be launched as the ROG Phone 5 since the number “4” is seen as inauspicious some of the Asian markets.

ASUS ROG Phone 5 Alleged Image

Right now, an alleged live image of the next-generation’s ROG Phone has been making rounds in Chinese Weibo showing off the rear design of the device in full glory.

At first glance, the device shares a pretty close resemblance to the current ROG Phone 3 (Review) we have in the market. However, the RGB-lit ROG logo at the back panel had notably been omitted on the new ROG Phone. On top of that, its rear camera housing is also treated to some redesign as well.

In fact, if you take a close look on its back panel, there’s actually a laser engraving of the numbers “05”, which hints that the device is likely to arrive as the ROG Phone 5.

So far, there isn’t much information pertaining to the specs of the upcoming ROG Phone 5. However, its recent Geekbench listing had confirmed that the device will be equipped with the latest Snapdragon 888 mobile platform.

Other than that, its 3C listing had also revealed that it will be coming with a 65W fast-charging support this time round which is a significant upgrade over the 30W fast-charging on the current ROG Phone 3.
