A new report has suggested that Motorola will be launching a new Edge series smartphone dubbed as the Motorola Edge 2022 during the third-quarter of the year. This model, codenamed Dubai+, has been spotted in a series of renders along with most of it’s hardware specs which give us a good idea on what to expect on the forthcoming device.
As seen from the renders, the Motorola Edge 2022 is expected to arrive with a centered punch-hole display with minimal along it’s edges. Report claims that the display will be a 6.5” pOLED display offering a FHD+ screen resolution along with an ultra-smooth 144Hz refresh rate. For selfies and video calls, the device also has a 32 megapixels front-facing camera tucked into a centered punch-hole camera cutout.
Over on the flip-side, the Motorola Edge 2022 appears to sport a vertically-stacked triple-cameras array comprising of a 50 megapixels main camera, 13 megapixels ultra-wide unit for landscape photography, as well as a 2 megapixels depth sensor for portraits.
Under the hood, the Motorola Edge 2022 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6879 chipset which will be paired with an option between 6GB or 8GB RAM as well as either 128GB or 256GB onboard storage. However, there’s no words on whether the device will support microSD card for further storage expansion.
To keep it’s lights on, the phone will be backed by a respectable 5,000mAh battery with an unspecified charging speed. Other than that, the Motorola Edge 2022 is also said to bring support for an external stylus for better productivity on the device.
