Following Honor’s break away from Huawei, reports were quick to suggest that the company will soon be partnering up with Qualcomm for the supply of Snapdragon chipsets for their upcoming smartphones.
Indeed, the company has now officially confirmed that the upcoming Honor 50 series will be the first in the world to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 778 chipset. While that’s definitely a piece of good news for Honor fans, but many are still eagerly waiting for official confirmation whether the new Honor 50 series smartphones will be able to support Google Mobile Services out of the box.
According to recent reports, Honor is expected to launch three different models including the Honor 50, Honor 50 Pro, as well as Honor 50 Pro+. The vanilla model is likely to run on the Snapdragon 778 chipset, while the top-of-the-line Honor 50 Pro+ is reportedly powered by the flagship Snapdragon 888 mobile platform.
During the past couple of weeks, the company had also announced a pair of new devices in the home market known as the Honor Play 5T Life Edition and Honor Play 5 targeted towards the entry-level to mid-ranger segment.
