On the outside, the Honor Play 5 features an extremely sleek design thanks to its super slim chassis of just 7.46mm. Similarly, the phone is also pretty light at 179 grams.

At the front, the phone features a 6.53” OLED display that offers a FHD+ screen resolution and a standard 60Hz refresh rate. It comes with the usual dewdrop-notch upfront that houses a 16 megapixels selfie camera.

Around the back of the phone, the Honor Play 5 arrives with a square-shape camera island which houses a quad-camera system lead by a 64 megapixels main camera. As for the other three cameras, they include an 8 megapixels ultra-wide camera, 2 megapixels macro camera, as well as a 2 megapixels depth sensor.

Under the hood, the Honor Play 5 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 800U chipset which is found in most of the recently announced 5G mid-ranger phones like the Vivo V21 5G and OPPO Reno5 Z 5G. This will be assisted by 8GB RAM and up to 256GB onboard storage in the memory department.

Keeping it’s light on will be a respectable 3,800mAh battery that comes with 66W fast-charging support which is capable of delivering a full charge in around 35 minutes. Software-wise, the phone will be shipped with the latest Magic UI 4.0 out of the box.

In the Chinese market, the Honor Play 5 is priced at 2,099 Yuan (US$327) and 2,299 Yuan (US$358) respectively for it’s 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB variants.
