Last week, a mysterious Vivo smartphone with a diamond-shaped camera module was spotted in the hand of Vivo’s S series brand ambassador, Cai XuKun. This device, according to reports out of China, is widely believed to be the upcoming Vivo S5.
Today, Vivo has officially confirmed on their Chinese Weibo microblog about the existence of the Vivo S5 smartphone, which is marketed with the tagline “Vivo S5 illuminate your beauty“. This hints that the device is likely to be another camera-centric smartphone from the Chinese smartphone maker.
Similar to the current Vivo S1 and S1 Pro, the new Vivo S5 is expected to be a mid-ranger device which comes with a palatable price point. However, the Vivo S5 should feature some upgrades over the current Vivo S1 in terms of it’s SoC and camera.
Although there is no official words on it’s official launch date, but the device is speculated to be announced in early November.
