In March 2020, Vivo launched its last NEX branded flagship called the Vivo NEX 3S 5G. Some reports had claimed that the Chinese manufacturer will be announcing its next NEX phone, in Q2 this year. However, a fresh leak reveals that the company is now planning to launch the Vivo NEX 5 somewhere during the second-halve of the year.
According to a Chinese tipster, the Vivo NEX 5 will offer a premium experience like its predecessor model. He claimed that the smartphone will be equipped with a high-resolution waterfall screen, which features extremely curved edges. It will be flanked by an under-display camera.
The back panel of the Vivo NEX 5 will have a triple camera setup powered by ZEISS optics. The “120+60” text in his Weibo post suggests that the NEX 5 could be coming with support for 120W fast charging and 60W wireless charging.
The other details of the NEX 5 are under wraps. While he mentioned that the phone is coming in the second half of the year, it is not clear whether it will break in Q3 or Q4.
