In June, Vivo had launched Vivo NEX smartphone with Snapdragon 845 SoC. The handset is equipped with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Along the NEX phone, the company had also announced Vivo NEX A fueled by Snapdragon 710 SoC. This handset does not feature a fingerprint scanner. A new variant of the same phone labelled as Vivo NEX UD A has been approved by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It seems to be a new variant of the NEX A that features an in-display fingerprint sensor, instead of a regular fingerprint reader.
The newly spotted Vivo NEX UD A may carry the same specifications as the NEX A phone. Hence, it is expected to arrive with a notch-less Super AMOLED screen of 6.59 inches. The SD710 chipset of the phone could be coupled with 6 GB of RAM. It may arrive with an internal storage of 128 GB. It is unlikely to feature a microSD card slot. For photography, it may feature 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera setup and a pop-up selfie shooter of 8-megapixel. It could be packed with 4,000mAh battery.
There is no information on the pricing of the Vivo NEX UD A phone. There is a possibility that the company may slash the pricing of the regular Vivo NEX A by the arrival of its under-display scanner variant.
