Vivo S18 series is reportedly in the works. Rumors surrounding it have revealed that Vivo may unveil it in December of this year in China. For those who don’t know, its sub-brand, iQOO, is also said to be working on the Neo 9 lineup for the Chinese market. A new leak, courtesy of tipster Digital Chat Station, has revealed the design and key specifications of the S18 and S18 Pro.
Vivo S18 series design
The tipster’s Weibo post includes the above image, which he had previously shared to reveal the design of the Neo 9 series. However, the tipster added that while the Neo 9 and Neo 9 Pro will be equipped with flat displays, the S18 and S18 Pro will feature curved-edge display panels. He added that the camera module will include a telephoto as a differing factor, meaning that the Neo 9 lineup, which will be a performance-driven series, will not feature a telephoto camera.
The Vivo S18 will feature the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, whereas the S18 Pro will house the flagship-grade Dimensity 9200 Plus chipset. He also revealed the camera setup of what appears to be the S18 Pro. The leak reveals that it will have a 50-megapixel Sony IMX920 main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a telephoto camera. We believe that it could be the same 12-megapixel telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom that was made available in the S17 Pro.
The Vivo S17 did not feature a telephoto camera. Hence, it is unclear whether the S18 will have it. However, it is expected to feature the same 50-megapixel Sony IMX920 primary camera with OIS support. As per another leak, the S18’s OLED display will offer up to 2,800 nits of brightness and pack a 5,000mAh battery.
The S18 Pro is also expected to arrive with a 5,000mAh battery. Both phones are rumored to support 80W charging. Another source claims that the S18, which bears the V2323A model number, will be available in multiple options, such as 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, and 16GB+512GB. It is likely that the S18 Pro may also arrive in the same variants. The same leaker has claimed that the lineup will include the Vivo S18e phone, but he did not share anything significant except for saying that it will have a flat display instead of a curved screen seen on the predecessor model.
