Recent reports have revealed that Vivo is gearing up to launch the Vivo S7t 5G smartphone in China. Fresh information that emerged today on Weibo reveals that the Chinese manufacturer could be working on the Vivo S9 smartphone. The handset is speculated to debut as the world’s first Dimensity 1100 chipset powered smartphone on March 6 in China.
According to the Chinese tipster, the Vivo S9 5G will be arriving with a 6.4-inch notched display. The leak also mentions that the device will be sporting a 44-megapixel ultrawide dual selfie camera system. It is unclear whether the Vivo S9 5G will borrow its display and dual selfie camera setup from the Vivo S7 5G from last year.
The Vivo S7 5G sported a 6.44-inch AMOLED screen with a wide notch that houses a main selfie camera of 44-megapixel and an 8-megapixel superwide lens. The leak has no other information on the specs of the Vivo S9.
In the previous month, a mysterious Vivo smartphone with model number V2072A was seen at the Google Play Console. The listing revealed that the V2072A has a Full HD+ display that offers a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, 480ppi pixel density, Dimensity 1100 5G chipset, 12 GB of RAM, and Android 11 OS. The image of the V2072A phone that was found in the listing revealed that it features a wide notch display.
It can be said based on the Google Play Console listing that the Vivo V2072 may debut in the market as the Vivo S9 5G. If the smartphone is really slated to debut on March 6, the company is likely to start with its teasers in China in the coming weeks.
