The Vivo V50, identified with the model number V2427, has recently received certifications from multiple countries, including India, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan, and the UAE. These certifications strongly suggest that the device is set for a Q1 2025 launch across various markets. However, according to tipster Abhishek Yadav, India could be the first country to witness its debut, with a launch expected in February.
Vivo V50’s chipset, variants, and colour options (rumored)
Yadav’s leak indicates that Vivo plans to release the Vivo V50 without its Pro variant, marking a shift from the brand’s usual strategy. While the reasons remain unclear, it is speculated that the V50 Pro might either be delayed for a later launch or shelved entirely.
The Vivo V50, which is said to launch in February in India, is tipped to feature the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset. It is expected to come in three configurations: 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 512GB. The device will also be available in four colour options: Red, Rose, Grey, and Blue.
Expected specifications
The Vivo V50 could be a tweaked version of the Vivo S20, launched in December 2024 in China. The S20 features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution. Its camera setup includes a 50 MP front camera with autofocus and a dual rear camera configuration of a 50-megapixel primary lens with OIS and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens.
The S20 also offers up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage. It is powered by a 6,500mAh battery with support for 90W fast charging. The Vivo V50 is expected to share most of these features, potentially with minor modifications.
