Vivo X Flip with Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 in Works

Vivo has recently launched the Vivo X90 series of smartphones in China. Rumors are rife that the company will unveil the Vivo S16 series before the end of this month. A new leak by tipster Digital Chat Station reveals that Vivo’s first flip phone with a foldable screen will be launching soon.

According to the tipster, the Vivo X Flip is coming soon. Yes, that’s the rumoured name of Vivo’s upcoming flip phone. He added that the device will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. Unfortunately, the tipster did not share any other information on the specs of the X Flip.

The Vivo X Flip will compete with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, the Motorola Razr 2022, the Huawei P50 Pocket, and the upcoming OPPO Find N2 Flip in the Chinese market. It is advisable to wait for further reports to know more about the X Flip. In all likelihood, the device may get announced in Q1 2023.

In related news, Vivo is reportedly working on the Vivo S16e, S16, and S16 Pro for the home market. These devices are said to be powered by the Exynos 1080, Snapdragon 870, and Dimensity 8200 chipsets, respectively.

The details of the Vivo S16e are not available yet. However, the S16 and S16 Pro are said to be equipped with curved-edge displays. Both models are likely to support 80W fast charging. The Pro+ model may come equipped with the Vivo V1+ image processing chip.
