Vivo unveiled the Vivo X Fold 3 and X Fold 3 Pro foldable phones in China last year. These devices came equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets, respectively. Leaks surrounding the Vivo X Fold 4 series have suggested that this year, the company may launch only one model—probably the Vivo X Fold 4 Pro.
Leaked information that has surfaced in recent weeks claims that the device will be equipped with advanced specifications, such as the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and a 6,000mAh battery. However, a new leak from reliable tipster Digital Chat Station suggests that the brand may skip launching the device this year.
Vivo X Fold 4 Pro could be skipped this year

In January, tipster Digital Chat Station claimed that the Chinese market would see four horizontally foldable devices this year. These include the Oppo Find N5, Honor Magic V4, Vivo X Fold 4, and Huawei Mate X7. Among these, the Find N5 has already launched, and the Magic V4 is expected to debut in June. The Huawei Mate X7 is expected to launch in the latter half of 2025, likely featuring a Kirin chipset, similar to its predecessor.
A new Weibo post by the tipster claims that the only Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered foldable remaining to launch this year is the Magic V4. This indirectly indicates that Vivo may have decided to cancel the Vivo X Fold 4 Pro.
The leak either suggests that the Vivo X Fold 4 Pro has been cancelled or that it may launch with a different chipset. MediaTek is set to release new processors, such as the Dimensity 9400 Plus and Dimensity 9300, which raises the possibility that Vivo could opt for a MediaTek SoC instead of the usual Snapdragon 8-series chip. It is advisable to wait for further reports to determine the fate of the X Fold 4 Pro.
