Vivo X Fold S Leak Reveals Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, Improved Battery and Charging Capabilities

In April 2021, Vivo announced the Vivo X Fold as its first foldable smartphone. Recent reports have claimed that the company is now working on another foldable phone called the Vivo X Fold S, which appears to be an enhanced version of the X Fold. Today, Chinese tipster Panda is Bald took to Weibo to reveal the key specifications of the X Fold S.

According to the tipster, the Vivo X Fold S will come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. The device will come equipped with a 4,700mAh battery, which will carry support for 80W fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

The original X Fold features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. It packs a 4,600mAh battery with 66W rapid charging and 50W wireless charging. It appears that apart from featuring a new chip, a larger battery, and better charging capabilities, the X Fold S could be identical to the original model.

The Vivo X Fold has an 8.03-inch foldable AMOLED LTPO display, whereas it has a 6.53-inch AMOLED panel with an under-display fingerprint scanner on the outside. Both displays support a 120Hz refresh rate. It has a 16-megapixel front camera, and its back panel has a 50-megapixel main camera, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens, and an 8-megapixel periscope zoom lens.

A recent leak revealed that Vivo may announce the Vivo X Fold S in September this year. As far as this month is concerned, its sub-brand may unveil the iQOO Z6 and Z6. iQOO Is expected to unveil the iQOO Neo 7 in October this year. Vivo is expected to unveil its Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered flagship phone in November or December this year.
