In recent months, Chinese smartphone makers have been gearing up their 5G portfolio as the next-generation’s network begin rolling out across the world. Previously, we’d already heard that both Xiaomi and Huawei are prepping to release a number of 5G smartphones by the end of the year which include the likes of Redmi K30 5G, Huawei Nova 6 5G and Honor V30 5G.
However, a new report originating from China today suggested that Vivo will also be announcing another 5G device by the end of the year. This device is none other than the Vivo X30 5G, which is expected to be an upper mid-ranger device that falls under the same category as the aforementioned trio.
According to the report, Vivo is preparing an upcoming exhibition which will be showcasing the Vivo X30 5G. As seen from the images taken during the preview of the exhibition, we can see that the Vivo X30 will feature a fullscreen, waterfall display that has no top-notch or hole-punch. Instead, the Vivo X30 should be deploying an elevating selfie camera.
From what we’d learned so far, the Vivo X30 is expected to be driven by the Exynos 980 SoC which offers an integrated 5G modem. It will be the first non-flagship device from Vivo to comes with 5G connectivity and will be able to support both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) mode.
