After a relatively long wait, Vivo has finally announced their next batch of 5G smartphones – Vivo X30 and Vivo X30 Pro. Unlike most of the recent or upcoming 5G smartphones, the duo will be driven by Samsung-made Exynos 980 SoC instead of the Snapdragon 765 SoC.
Vivo X30 Specifications
The Vivo X30 comes with a 6.44-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display which has an impressive peak brightness of 1200 nits and HDR support. This display, according to Vivo, is touted as “XDR Display”.
The Exynos 980 SoC powering the device has an integrated 5G modem which is capable of supporting both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) modes. In it’s memory compartment, you can find up to 8GB worth of RAM and a hefty 256GB onboard storage space.
The Vivo X30 features a triple-camera setup on it’s rear panel which comprises of a 64 megapixels (f/1.8 aperture) main snapper, 32 megapixels (f/2.0 aperture) portrait lens that has a 50mm focal length for improved depth sensing, as well as an 8 megapixels wide angle lens.
As for the minuscule hole-punched compartment on the front panel, it will house a 32 megapixels selfie camera. Apparently, this will be the tiniest hole-punch among all the current smartphones – measuring just 2.98mm in diameter.
The Vivo X30 is fueled by a 4,350mAh battery which supports Vivo’s 33W FlashCharge technology. Software-wise, the device will be the first Vivo smartphone to debut with FunTouchOS 10 (based on Android Pie).
Vivo X30 Pro Specifications
The Vivo X30 Pro will share the same specs as the Vivo X30 across all metrics except for one major difference in it’s camera department.
This major difference is none other than the presence of a 13 megapixels periscope lens which is capable of achieving up to 5x hybrid zoom and an incredible 60x digital zoom. This will put it slightly ahead of the Huawei P30 Pro which max out at 50x digital zoom.
Other than that, you can expect to see the same specs and design on the X30 and X30 Pro duo.
Pricing & Availability
The Vivo X30 will be available in 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB memory configurations which are priced at 3,298 Yuan (US$472) and 3,598 Yuan (US$515) respectively. The device will go on sale in China starting December 28th.
The Vivo X30 Pro will also be available in both 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB memory configurations. However, the device will be priced slightly higher at 3,998 Yuan (US$572) and 4,298 Yuan (US$616) respectively. It will go on sale in China starting December 24th, just in time for Christmas.
