Recent reports have revealed key details about the Vivo X90 series of smartphones. Some reports have claimed that it may launch later this year. A Chinese tipster has shed some information on the launch timeframe of the X90 lineup.
According to the tipster, Vivo’s main launch event at the end of the year will be for the Vivo X90 series. He added that the Vivo X80 series’ product life cycle will also end in December.
He added that, as per the company’s practice, it takes one month to clear the inventory after the end of the life cycle of the previous product. This is done to deplete the inventory in sufficient time before announcing a new series.
However, it appears that this time the company has reduced the time required to clear the X80 series’ inventory. The new X90 series is now expected to debut soon after the end of the X80’s life cycle. The tipster also claimed that the company has no plans to launch the Vivo S16 series this year.
So far, the rumor mill has tipped the specifications of the Vivo X90 Pro and the X90 Pro+ smartphones. The X90+ is likely to come in Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Dimensity chipset variants. Its rear camera setup will have a 1-inch camera sensor, an ultra-wide lens, and a 64-megapixel telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. The cameras will be powered by the Vivo V2 ISP.
