Vivo Y50 goes official with Snapdragon 665 SoC; quad-camera setup & 5,000mAh battery

After days of teasing, the Vivo Y50 mid-ranger has finally been announced today. Unlike the Vivo V19 (Global) which was also announced today, the Vivo Y50 is a slightly more affordable model with watered-down specs under the hood.

Unlike the other smartphones in the current Y-series lineup, the Vivo Y50 offers a refreshed design on both the front and back. Starting with the front, the Vivo Y50 will be touting a hole-punched display in place of a typical dewdrop-notch design. The front panel encompasses a 6.53-inches IPS LCD display which has a FHD+ screen resolution and a 16 megapixels selfie camera.

At the back, the Vivo Y50 will feature a rectangular camera module that houses an AI-powered quad-camera setup comprising of a 13 megapixels main shooter, an 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens, 2 megapixels macro camera, as well as a 2 megapixels depth sensor.

The device will be driven by the Snapdragon 665 SoC coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB onboard storage space in its memory compartment. Moreover, the device also come with microSDXC support for memory expansion.

To keep its lights on, there will be a gargantuan 5,000mAh battery which supports up to 18W fast-charging. On the software-side, it will run on the latest FuntouchOS 10 based on Android 10.

For those who’re intrested, the Vivo Y50 will be available in both Starry Black & Iris Blue colorways.

The Vivo Y50 is available for pre-order from now till April 11 in Cambodia. The device will be priced at US$249 (S$356 / INR18,900) for its single 8GB+128GB model.
