Vivo Singapore has announced a new 5G mid-ranger smartphone in the local market known as the Vivo Y72 5G that carries an attractive launch price of just S$429 (US$323) for it’s 8GB+128GB single variant.
It arrives just in time to give consumers more alternative over some of the recently announced mid-ranger smartphones including the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite (Review) and OPPO A94 (Review) which were also positioned around a similar price bracket.
The Vivo Y72 5G boasts a 6.58-inches FHD+ IPS LCD display that offers a standard 60Hz screen refresh rate and a 16 megapixels selfie camera housed within a dewdrop-notch upfront. Along the right edge of the phone, there’s also a power button which doubles up as a fingerprint scanner.
Over on the flip-side, it features an elongated camera island which brings along a triple-camera system comprising of a 64 megapixels main camera, 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens, as well as a 2 megapixels macro unit.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset and draws power from a respectable 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support. Other than that, it’s also worth noting that the device supports microSD card for storage expansion and comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack as well.
