What to expect from the upcoming iPhone 7 Pro

Earlier this morning, we just reported a couple of leaked images of the alleged iPhone 7 Pro showing the entire view of the alleged device.

As the day edges closer to the official launch in September, more leaks and rumors for the device no doubt lead to more speculations on what we can expect from the iPhone 7 Pro. In this article, I will do a quick round up of all the bits and pieces we had gathered so far for the device.

DESIGN

First and foremost, the iPhone 7 Pro will be expected to come with 5.5-inches display and probably nothing bigger than that since Apple has a long tradition of shunning oversized devices as Steve Job used to believe that phones should match the ergonomics of your hand. Even though in 2014 Apple finally go against their mantra to release a slightly larger devices with 4.7″ and 5.5″ displays, we do believe that this is probably only going to be a one time off revision. An earlier leaked which we reported also shows that the device will come with a near benzel-less display, which is similar to the so-called edge-to-edge display which rumors have been suggesting.

This time round, the iPhone 7 Pro should also be coming with a slightly thinner design as the device will no longer come with a headphone jack as reported earlier. According to a report by International Business Times, the body of the device is likely to be manufactured with 7000 series aluminum alloy for improved durability. Surely, this will also give the device a much more premium outlook as well.

Specifications

We will now touch on the alleged specifications of the iPhone 7 Pro. To begin with, the device is tipped to come with a 5.5″ FHD display capable of boosting a pixel density of 401ppi. Powering the device will no doubt be Apple’s latest A10 SoC rumored to be manufactured solely by TSMC. Given the fact that the current A9 SoC has already commanded a superior performance on the device, we do believe that the A10 will provide an even greater boost for the users.

While we’re not sure how true this is, but Mirror Online had reported that Apple will be ditching the 16GB units and will offer the 32GB version as the minimum. Hence, the iPhone 7 Pro will probably be launched with a 32GB/ 64GB/ 128GB variants this September. Industry insider Ming-Chi Kuo also reportedly claimed that the device will come with a 3GB RAM, while the rest of the iPhone 7 series will remain at 2GB.

Camera-wise, the iPhone 7 Pro will come with a dual-camera setup similar to the one above as visualize by iPhone expert Martin Hajek. Both camera sensors will be 12 megapixels and are purportedly manufactured by Sony. This new multi-lens setup is capably of boosting a DSLR quality images and is able to deliver a lossless optical zoom as well.

Unlike the previous iPhones, the iPhone 7 Pro is rumored to come with a Force Touch ID button which replaces the traditional physical Home button on the device. Similarly, Apple has also upgraded the 7 Pro by treating it with a new smart connectivity feature as illustrated by the three tiny dots in the above image. Like what reported earlier on, the device should also come with a waterproof body this time round. Sad to say, the 7 Pro will no longer come with an audio jack, but it’ll be able to support wireless charging this time round.

Prices and release date

According to Apple’s track record, we are confident that the iPhone 7 Pro will be announced by mid-September along with its two other siblings. It will then be released approximately 2 weeks later in late September. Pricing-wise, we do expect it to cost around $200 more than the iPhone 7 Plus which will tag it with a price of at least $1,150 for the base model.

How accurate are this rumors?

Now, we’re finally off to the fun part. According to Sports Betting Dime, the odds that the iPhone 7 Pro will come with no headphone jack is 1/19, but also a 4/1 possibility that the device will come with a waterproof feature. Hence, this shows that what we reported in this article may not be entirely accurate, so just take them as a pinch of salt!
