Besides unveiling the much-anticipated Xiaomi 11T series smartphones, Xiaomi also took the opportunity to announced the brand new Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE smartphone that’s targeted towards the mid-range segment.
For those who may not know, the ”NE” wording within it’s moniker stands for ”New Edition”, which basically means that the phone is a new variant of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G that was launched back in March this year.
As such, it doesn’t came as a surprise that the phone shares largely identical specs and design as the latter, except for it’s underlying chipset. Unlike the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G which was powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 780G chipset, the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE settles for a Snapdragon 778G chip instead.
Otherwise, the phone comes with the same 6.55” AMOLED display that offers a FHD+ screen resolution, 90Hz refresh rare, as well as a 20 megapixels selfie camera housed within it’s hole-punch cutout.
Around the back of the phone, it comes with a familiar square-shape camera module which is home to a triple-camera setup including a 64 megapixels main camera, 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens, as well as a 5 megapixels macro camera.
Keeping it’s lights on is none other than the same 4,250mAh battery that comes with 33W fast-charging support. On the software side of things, the phone is shipped with MIUI 12 based on Android 11 out of the box.
The Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE is available in four different colorways including Truffle Black, Bubblegum Blue, Peach Pink, as well as Snowflake White. In Singapore, the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE is priced at just S$549 for it’s sole 8GB+256GB configuration, while the same phone is priced at RM1,199, RM1,399 and RM1,599 in the Malaysian market for it’s 6GB+128GB, 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB trims.
