Fresh information reveals that Xiaomi is working on the Xiaomi 12 Lite series of smartphones. The lineup reportedly includes two devices such as Xiaomi 12 Lite and Xiaomi 12 Lite Zoom. These models are expected to succeed the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite series of phones that debuted this year.
According to Xiaomiui.net, the Xiaomi 12 Lite has model numbers 2203129G (global variant) and 2203129I (India variant). These models are now listed in the IMEI database. The handset is reportedly codenamed as ‘Taoyao’ and its shortened model number is L9.
On the other hand, the Xiaomi phone with model number 2203129BC that has appeared in the IMEI database is speculated to debut as the Xiaomi 12 Lite Zoom. The publication claims that its codename is ‘Zijin’ and its shortened model number is L9B. It appears that it will be a China-exclusive smartphone as its global or Indian variants haven’t been spotted yet. The shortened model number of the device is said to be The Xiaomi 12 Lite and 12 Lite Zoom monikers are the tentative names suggested by the publication.

The Xiaomi 12 Lite and 12 Lite Zoom are likely to arrive with similar specs. Both models are expected to feature a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with curved edges and a slim design. These devices are expected to feature the Snapdragon 778G or Snapdragon 780G SoC.
The Xiaomi 12 Lite and 12 Lite Zoom smartphones are likely to feature a triple camera unit headlined by a 64-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL GW3 primary camera. The 12 Lite’s camera module may include a wide-angle lens and a macro camera, whereas the 12 Lite Zoom may feature a telephoto snapper instead of the macro lens. Both phones are expected to arrive with an in-display fingerprint scanner. The 12 Lite duo are expected to debut by March 2022.
